crime songs
After five years of investigations as the Swiss TATORT commissioner Liz Ritschard, Delia & the Forensic Service takes on killing and being killed by singing and making music.
With touching, humorous and bizarre songs about and about killing between jazz, pop, film and cabaret, from Nino Rota to Sting, Georg Kreiser, Randy Newmann, Brecht & Eisler, Elliot Smith, Cole Porter, Nancy Sinatra and of course Bond songs rummaged through the crime field with relish. Arranged subtly and reduced to the essence, empathetic, powerful and humorous accompanied by the two dogs Sha (bass clarinet) and Kaspar Rast (drums), a warm, transparent and lulling band sound can be heard. With Delia Mayer's voice, which is characterized by jazz, strong, warm and direct, then again tender and enraptured and her multi-faceted live presence characterized by drama, they take the audience into the cosmos of killing and being killed.
With the two sniffer dogs SHA (bass-clarinette) and KASPAR RAST (drums).
«Stage murders are her therapy - as a crime scene inspector, she hunts murderers. To compensate, Delia Mayer sings “murderous” songs with her wonderful jazz voice and a fabulous jazz duo. But now Delia Mayer is firstly only a commissioner on television, secondly a jazz singer at least as good as an actress and thirdly a woman with a lot of self-irony ... Mayer sings fabulously subtle. Musically, the evening is a real pleasure ... »(St. Galler Tagblatt)
