Delia Mayer, recently celebrated at Theater Basel in the title role of "Lady in the Dark" and as the witch in "Into the Woods," dedicates herself to Kreisler's biting and incisive cabaret songs, which form a touching one-woman musical. Lola Blau's life is thrown into turmoil: The Jewish actress flees the Nazis from annexed Austria, traveling via Switzerland to the USA, where she ekes out a living performing in nightclubs. Searching for her former lover, she returns to her native Vienna, only to find that life has returned to normal, unmoved.
